Commander George Doyon,

Commander Doyon is a San Antonio, TX native. Enlisting in the Navy in 1987, he graduated from BOOST in 1988 and then attended and graduated from Norwich University in 1992.
After graduation, CDR Doyon attended the Surface Warfare Division Officer Course in San Diego, CA. He then reported to USS GERMANTOWN (LSD 42) in January 1993 where he served as Weapons Officer, First Lieutenant, M Division Officer, Chief Engineer and Navigator. In January 1997 he reported to BUPERS (PERS 41) serving as the DIVO Detailer. He reported to the USS TORTUGA (LSD 46) in February 1999 as the Operations Officer. Upon completion of his tour as OPS, CDR Doyon transferred to COMPHIBRON 4 in September 2000 as the N3.
Upon completion of his tour at COMPHIBRON 4, he reported to COMPHIBGRU TWO in August 2002 as the Flag Secretary. After CDR Doyon’s tour as Flag Secretary, he reported in March 2004 to the Naval War College and was awarded his Masters in National Security and Strategic Studies. In July 2005, he reported aboard the USS GUNSTON HALL (LSD 44) as the Executive Officer. Upon his departure in JAN 07 CDR Doyon reported to OPNAV N85 as the In Service Amphibious Ships Requirements Officer.
CDR Doyon’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various service and campaign decorations.
